This autumn could see the start of work on two new 3G football pitches in Wrexham following an investment of £400,000.
Wrexham Council has agreed the funding with Football Association Wales (FAW) for the two pitches, which will be installed at schools Ysgol Y Grango and Ysgol Rhosnesni.
“Football continues to make front page news in Wrexham and the interest in taking part in the sport is spreading. The pitches will be a fantastic asset to both schools but we won’t stop there. We’ll continue to work with FAW to provide new and upgraded facilities for all our secondary schools to make sure every community can become involved in this sport,” says Cllr David A Bithell, chair of the Steering Group.
The council hopes to start work on the new pitches this autumn after it secures a contractor for the projects.
