Sport England retains statutory planning role

Access to fitness facilities is increasingly influencing where younger people choose to live, how they spend their disposable income and where they socialise, according to new research from The Gym Group.

Sport England will retain its role as a statutory consultee on major planning applications affecting playing fields and community sport, following a Government review of the planning system.

Places Leisure and Dartford Borough Council have officially opened a brand-new gym at Fairfield Leisure, marking the latest milestone in a £1million investment to transform the centre’s health and fitness offer.

Waterlooville Leisure Centre reopens

VIPs, sporting legends and Horizon Leisure customers gathered to celebrate the reopening of Waterlooville Leisure Centre’s gym at the end of August following a £500,000 refurbishment designed to boost regional health and community fitness.
