The Well HQ partners with The Fitness Group to level up female health education

Female health experts, The Well HQ, have partnered with The Fitness Group, the UK’s leading fitness education training provider, to upskill personal trainers in female health topics.

The education courses are designed to develop understanding in how to train, support and work with girls and women better, and covers topics such as the menstrual cycle, breast health and reducing injury rates.

The Well HQ was launched in 2021 by former Team GB rower Baz Moffat, Dr Emma Ross and Dr Bella Smith, who share a common belief in the importance of being active and the endless health benefits it brings to a woman on her journey through life. The founding partners’ mission is to translate science on female health into messaging that everyone can understand, whilst delivering the material in an engaging way.

The menopause courses created by The Well HQ which will be delivered by The Fitness Group are the first mapped to the Professional Standard for Working with Women and Girls. This includes all the things which are important to be aware of, consider and integrate into your practise when working with women.

Baz Moffat, chief executive officer at The Well HQ, commented: 'The menopause is the most accepted topic in female health. Progress in recent years means now everyone wants to know about the menopause, not just midlife women. High profile individuals like Gabby Logan speaking up has only helped to normalise the conversation further. We’ve also seen momentum building in the business world through the launch of menopause policies, which has massively helped create an inclusive environment where people are now comfortable talking about the menopause.

'There is so much that exercise can do to support midlife women and manage their symptoms, which is why our partnership with The Fitness Group is vital in helping to raise further awareness of the topic. I want it to be normal for people working in exercise to learn about all female health topics, but especially menopause.'

As well as providing courses globally through its online platform, The Fitness Group offers courses all over the UK, with locations in key cities such as London, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, Bristol, Derby, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow. The business was set up to equip aspiring personal trainers with a robust foundation encompassing health, nutrition, fitness, and specialist areas like pre and post-natal.
