The way of the Ninja

The success of TV programme 'Ninja Warrior UK' is not confined to our living rooms with Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Parks due to launch across the UK.

Ninja Warrior UK - “the toughest obstacle course on TV” - sees hopeful competitors push themselves to their limits as they attempt to complete punishing challenges. The adrenaline-fuelled physical game show is as popular with adults as it is with children. But now Ninja Warrior UK is leaving our living rooms with Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Parks due to launch across the UK.

The Innovation Leisure group is the exclusive partner to ITV responsible for building and servicing the Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Parks. The group is one of the UK’s most experienced Ninja and Trampoline Park designers, manufacturers, builders, consultants and operators.

Managing director Mark Ashton says, “The TV show is huge in the UK with an average of six million viewers each episode. Walking into the Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Park feels like you are entering the TV show and becoming a Ninja.”

Inclusivity

One of the attractions of the Ninja parks are that they offer activities for all. An advanced course is aimed at adults and those who want to put their fitness to the test, in addition to a huge arrange of obstacles suitable for everyone.

“These are destination venues for the whole family. All non-adult based obstacles lie over foam pits allowing for errors and falling off. Some obstacles are easier for children because of upper body strength and weight, which means that kids can happily compete with their parents,” says Ashton.

Each park has a mezzanine café, which allows parents who do not want to compete to watch their children while enjoying a coffee and snack.

Weekends and school holidays are busy, but the parks are also occupied during the week with school programmes, fitness classes, toddler sessions and after-school clubs. They also engage with local sports clubs hosting evenings with football, hockey and rugby teams. Cubs and Brownies groups are regular visitors and most sites also offer sessions for special needs groups.

The Parks programme

To date, Innovation Leisure has built more than 70 trampoline parks as well as four Ninja Parks in the UK and across the EU.

2017 saw the launch of the UK’s first Ninja Park, and the world’s largest Ninja Park –Total Ninja. The 40,000sq ft site in Manchester has 11 Ninja runs for all abilities as well as a Ninja Gym to help participants prepare for the course.

Obstacles include: Spider Wall, Ring sliders, Warped Wall, Ninja Reaction Zone, Jump Tower, Sea of Swings, Tilting Beams, Rolling Logs, Scramble Net, Spider Wall, Quad Steps, Sea of Doors, Floating Bridge, Ninja Climbing Wall, Giant Airbag, Foam Pits and more. The attraction has seen more than 200,000 visitors since opening.

In 2018, a Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Park launched in Stoke-on-Trent. The 20,000sq ft site offers Ninja runs for all abilities as well as five party rooms and a large café.
TruNinja opened in Warrington on the site of a former trampoline park. At 9,000sq ft, the park is a fraction of the size of its sister sites and yet has accommodated almost 50,000 visitors since its launch.
A second TruNinja site is underway just outside Blackpool and scheduled to open in May.

Four more Ninja Warrior UK parks are set to open later this year across the country, including Wigan which is currently under construction.

Innovation Leisure aims to develop 20 to 25 parks in the UK, the majority of which will be ITV licensed Ninja Warrior UK sites.
