Mytime Active has announced the appointment of Steven May as its new chief executive officer.
With more than 27 years of experience in the leisure and wellbeing sector, May’s leadership will be instrumental in delivering Mytime Active’s strategic vision, strengthening community engagement and ensuring the organisation continues to help people ‘get more out of life’.
In this pivotal role, he will work closely with the senior leadership team to build on Mytime Active’s legacy, driving innovation in health and wellbeing services, and advancing its mission as a social enterprise and independent charity.
Having previously served as operations director, May stepped in as interim managing director following Jason Stanton’s departure in February. His permanent appointment, which follows a rigorous selection process, reflects his proven leadership and extensive industry expertise.
Isobel Gowan, chair of the Board at Mytime Active, said: 'Steven’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Mytime Active. His leadership, combined with his deep understanding of the organisation, will ensure we continue to deliver high-quality health and wellbeing services across our communities. We are committed to improving life outcomes for individuals, and we are confident that Steven will drive Mytime Active forward with passion and vision.
'Steven’s journey with Mytime Active is truly inspiring. He began his career with us 27 years ago, completing his work experience and training as a lifeguard at our own Walnuts Leisure Centre. Now, as CEO, he brings a unique understanding of the organisation from the ground up.'
May said: 'I am incredibly proud to step into the role of CEO at Mytime Active. This organisation has been a part of my life since the very start of my career, and I am deeply committed to its mission. I look forward to leading our fantastic team, driving innovation and strengthening our partnerships to ensure we continue to make a positive impact on the communities we serve. This is more than just a professional milestone, it’s an opportunity to create lasting change in people’s lives.'
