The Gym Group appoints Alison Sagar to lead on growth strategy

Low-cost nationwide gym chain, The Gym Group, has appointed Alison Sagar as chief commercial officer to drive its growth plans.      

Sagar, who has more than 30 years’ experience working in commercial marketing and strategy, has deep expertise across service brands, leisure assets and digital businesses, having worked for British Airways, Booz Allen Hamilton, Amex and PayPal. More recently, she served as chief marketing officer for two digital scale-ups, Snappy and Redpin.

In her role at The Gym Group, Sagar will be responsible for all aspects of commercial growth, from brand development, marketing and communications strategy to pricing and revenue management. A key focus will be driving membership and revenue growth across the company’s 230+ existing sites, while supporting continued expansion. The company is aiming to open 50 gyms over the next three years.
