Phase one of dementia-friendly Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub launched

LiveWire Warrington has launched the first phase of its new community hub facility integrating leisure, library and health services designed to support people with dementia.
It comes after an extensive two-year redevelopment.

The £16m regeneration scheme, developed in collaboration with, has been specifically designed to meet leading dementia-friendly standards throughout, creating a safe and welcoming environment for people living with the condition.

Facilities
This includes a range of dementia-friendly features such as natural and artificial lighting,
new signage and floor finishes, accessible toilets and a quiet room.

A fully-accessible swimming pool, sports hall and a new luxury spa are set to be opened at phase two of the project, expected to be later in 2018.

Partners
The project has been constructed by BAM, and supported with funding from Warrington Borough Council, NHS England, Sport England, Football Foundation and Lawn Tennis Association.
